ZOMIN MOUNTAINS AND THEIR ECONOMY

The territory is divided into two parts: the Zamin State Reserve and the Zamin people's Park, which is located on the northern ridges of the Turkestan Mountains, bordering on each other. Zomin State Reserve has an area of 26840 on the territory of Zomin and Bahmal districts and was established in 1960 year. Zamin people's Park was founded in 1978 year; in the Zamin District of Jizzakh region it forms an area of 24110 ha. The reserve provides for the protection and inviolability of all natural resources in its territory. The people's Park was established for the purpose of conservation, restoration and recreational research of unique mountain ecosystems. Qarag'ay forests are one of the largest forests in the area. There are rare species of animals (14 pieces) and plants (18 pieces) included in the Red Book of Uzbekistan. The reason why the territory has been protected to a different extent since 1913 year, unique natural resources have been preserved.
