Abstract

The article is devoted to the problem of studying modern methods and techniques of teaching a foreign (English) language to students of a non-linguistic university. As an example, there are several modern and relevant methods of teaching English. This article pays special attention to the specifics of the application of these methods in the educational process. The effectiveness of methods of teaching a foreign language is also considered, since it contributes to the formation and development of various abilities, skills, general educational and professional competencies that are significant for a modern specialist. The analysis of modern contradictions in teaching a foreign language in the non-linguistic environment of a modern institute is carried out. Currently, in the era of globalization and scientific and technological progress, the need for future specialists to know a foreign language is increasing, in particular, this applies to students of non-linguistic specialties. One of the ways to increase the effectiveness of teaching a foreign language is to introduce personality-oriented teaching methods into the educational process. Successful mastering of the English language is influenced by the experience, skill, practical skills and depth of knowledge of the modern language of the teacher. In addition, the effectiveness of training depends on socio-cultural and economic factors. The use of advanced teaching methods and tools will significantly increase the motivation of students and the effectiveness of language acquisition, help to achieve the depth of knowledge and skills that were previously possible only with a long stay of the student among native speakers
