Ca2+/H2+ ANTIPORTER ACTIVITY IN RAT LIVER MITOCHONDRIA IN DIFFERENT STATES OF THYROID FUNCTION
Main Article Content
Abstract
The article discusses data on the regulation of Ca2+/2H+-antiporter activity by thyroid hormones. It was shown that after thyroidectomy, the calcium capacity of rat liver mitochondria increases. The administration of physiological concentrations of thyroxine to thyroidectomized rats reduces the calcium capacity almost to the norm, and in hyperthyroidism the calcium capacity is much lower than the control one.
