Main Article Content
Abstract
Functional styles are one of the main categories of stylistics. They are formed in the process of long-term functioning and development of the language. For the first time, the concept of functional style was formulated by representatives of the Prague Linguistic Circle at the beginning of the 20th century. In their works, they noted that natural language can be subdivided into a number of styles, depending on the communicative function they perform. Subsequently, the theory of styles was actively developed both in foreign and domestic linguistics.
