Abstract
The article is devoted to the methods of studying dramatic works in literature lessons in middle and high school, determining their specifics and methods of working with them. Difficulties associated with the perception of a dramatic text led to the use of various types of commentary: literary, lexical and phraseological, historical and every day. Due to the fact that a dramatic work is created for staging on stage, a significant role is given to another commentary - stage, which serves as a reference point for the "vision" of the text and a stimulator of creative thinking. The teacher, involving students in the analysis of the work, must create in their imagination a specific performance, which helps to penetrate into the depth of the artistic world of the dramatic text.
