Abstract

The article gives an overview of the work on the study of gender in linguistics. The article describes the study of genealogy in chronological order: from the simplest linguistic observations to modern science, research in various aspects of the study of gender in local and foreign linguistics. The history of the gender issue and the prospects for future development are outlined.
